On June 12th, 2023, the Deutsche Gesellschaft Feuerfest- und Schornsteinbau e.V.
(dgfs) will organize and hold its internationally renowned conference in Düsseldorf,
Germany, for the 7th time.
Since its foundation in 1985 the regular conferences complement the wide range
of dgfs activities which focus on general training and advanced training of expert
personnel, research and development in the refractory engineering and chimney
construction sectors and provision of expert literature focusing on new developments
in the field.
The conferences enable us to feature to a broad specialist audience all the innovations
and developments as well as the changes regarding requirements dealing
with refractory engineering and chimney construction. At the same time everybody
can be sensitized to realize that for a proper and flawless operation of high temperature
industrial plants it is of utmost importance to rely on intensive cooperation
between plant designers, companies involved in the construction of plants with
refractory materials or chimneys and plant operators.
For over 38 years the task forces at dgfs have been successful in implementing
several general training and advanced training measures, presentation of technical
documentation and provision of recommendations for the technical enhancement
of necessities in the refractory engineering and chimney construction sectors. dgfs
focusses specifically on recognizing technical trends and resulting modifications
for member companies. Consequently, dgfs works hard to accompany and assist
our industry. We do this by working closely together with universities and other
professional associations.
The international recognition of dgfs is specifically documented by the fact that
training materials and expertise books, which are used to train and advance junior
workers or employees, are used in other countries after having been translated into
different languages.
This remarkable success would not have been possible without the intensive and
complimentary contributions of the experts working at the companies who are
members of dgfs. For this reason alone, dgfs plays a special role where companies
work trustful and hard together showing their profound interest to achieve
continuous progress within a sector of our industry that is so essential to ensure
a promising future.
